00:11 rb appears to has no context. Who's Whittaker?
00:11 Kat|english Former LJ employee from the pre-6a days. His mom is famous.
00:11 Azz|Eee Whitaker is an old LJ employee, who appears in many jokes.
00:11 Kat|english Well "famous"
00:11 Azz|Eee WHITAKER'S MOM.
00:12 rb I remember hearing "Whitaker's Mom" but not why!
00:12 rahaeli whitaker's default verbal 404 or timeout noise was "...your mom"
00:12 rahaeli whenever he got stuck, that's what'd come out
00:12 rahaeli so, this eventually got turned around on him, and whitaker's mom jokes were the thing to do.
00:13 rahaeli "so, on a scale of 1 to whitaker's mom, how much does this idea suck?" etc.

Attention Harry Potter fans (and other fans as well):
I've recently learned that
thanfiction, aka Andrew Blake, is the same person as the con artist Amy Player, aka Victoria Bitter, aka Mr Frodo, aka Jordan Wood, from Lord of the Rings fandom a few years ago.
This fandom_wank article has more about the situation, as does
turimel's LJ. He is up to his old tricks, and hasn't changed a bit - all the signs are there, including an attempt at putting on a convention (which I'm certain will never happen).
If he's on your friendslist, please look into this situation, and above all else, do not give him money! I avoided his cons years ago by listening to my friends and to my own instincts, please do the same, and save yourself a lot of grief.

Starting with the et cetera...
¤ I'm incredibly behind on all things comment-y. Replying to comments/feedback, leaving feedback for fic I've read, all that good stuff. Since it's incredibly gross outside today and the mere thought of braving the weekend holiday shopping crowd strikes fear into my heart, I think I'll be staying in and will thus have time to sit down with tea and lj.
¤ I'm so in the mood for nachos. Randomly. But I think it will behoove me to eat super healthy before I go visit the family for xmas. Which means I should do some srs cooking this week.
¤ BPAL. I have a few reviews of Yule scents.
Now Winter Nights Enlarge {Shorten those tedious nights with a surge of body heat: vanilla-infused red musk, champaca, petitgrain, ylang ylang, patchouli, nutmeg, honey, galbanum, and traces of caramel.} Red Musk on me is A+++ so once the caramel in this calms down, NWNE is really great on my skin. Aside from the caramel and musk, I can't pick out too many of the other notes - the champaca I can sense, and what I think is the patchouli. I predict I'll wear this scent a lot more next holiday season after it ages.
Snow Flakes {The radiance and desolation of winter.} Light, minty, sort of crystal-cold on my skin. I like it A LOT more than I thought I would, tbh, since I was hoping for that cold, almost smokey scent of a winter night right before it snows and, simultaneously, dreading aquatic/ozone/spearmint. BUT. But, it's such a pretty, light, cold scent, very similar to Snow White on me. Like, Snow White Lite, almost, with Bonus Mint.
I also tried Ded Moroz from a friend's order, but can't recall exactly how it smelled on me aside from 'nice' and vaguely minty and earthy behind a rounder, warmer scent (which must be the amber).
¤ Merlin! ( 2.12 witter )

[holiday 2009 ficlet request]

Because I am (a) poor and (b) incredibly unorganized, in lieu of holiday cards this year, I thought I'd offer holiday ficlets again. Please, feel free to ask for something in any fandom I've written in - trust me, it gives me supergleefulness to write ficlet type stuff for the flist. ♥
Stealing an idea from
miakun, I also thought it might be neat to offer ficlets in the 'verses of previous fic. So! If you're interested in a snippet from the same ficverse as something I've already written, here are links to the fandoms I've written here while on lj:
Angel | Buffy | Good Omens | Merlin | Merlin RPF
{I'm slooooowly (and haphazardly, viz. incredibly unorganized) also indexing my stuff over on delicious, but I'm thinking only the Merlin and Merlin RPF stuff will be up there soonish.}
Pre-lj, I wrote some Star Wars and Harry Potter fic, and maybe some other random fic, some of which is at Master_Apprentice, some at ff.n, and there's probably some here on lj, but most of it is so utterly horrible, that I can't imagine you'd want to READ it, never mind have fic based in any of those 'verses. I'm happy to try and write something new in any of my fandoms, though, if you're yearning for something. Give me a character/pairing/prompt, and I'll try my best. :D (Same for jossverse and merlin/merlin rpf stuff, if for some reason you're hoping for something new from me, though I can't even imagine anyone out there is... :D)

LJ notifications are currently down. http://community.livejournal.com/lj_mai ntenance/126582.html
Status (http://status.livejournal.org) says that the notifications are being cached to be sent later.
I got some DW comments that I don't have notifications for either.
Hang tight, be chill, and all that good stuff. I am perhaps hopelessly behind on my LJ friends page, though I'm trying to at least read the Support-related stuff. Please let me know if anything earth-shattering happened and you're not on my DW reading list (because that's smaller and I did get caught up on that).
(The Support-related stuff I'm reading is my Support filter, so if you see occasional entries marked "# = spr0t" then I've probably caught up on most of your recent exploits.)

[Obligatory Forks-proximity/vampire joke]
[commentary]
Me: [technical correction of Twilight-vampires' capabilities]
[discussion of reading it]
Me: "So my friend recommended I read it for the characterization and it was some good strong characterization."
Her: "WTF, all the characters are so unrealistic, almost cardboard, I mean, OMG BELLA!!! No girls are like that!!!!"
Me: "...um, actually, me at 14? I *was* Bella."
Her: "OMG I'm so sorry."
I feel more sorry for anyone who has to play shrink to a Bella, because that can't be easy.

Friday the 27th featured a lot of testing and not much Twitter content; that was because I was all up in Support/Suggestions/Docs sorts of stuff.
Saturday the 28th was mostly taken with feeling miserable. This led to sleeping most of the day.
Sunday the 29th I spent a good deal of time summing up my life so far. My clock started doing weird things.
By Monday the 30th I had got on a fanfiction kick. Then note_to_cat hit the spotlight, and someone pointed out the flood. I got into bailing mode. My poor cousin discovered that someone had defaced his car. :( I called my parents.
And so we enter December.
December 01, Tuesday: I did not win NaNo this year. Not even close. Comm volume stayed high. I have yet to fully articulate my thoughts about Twilight (mostly, I don't like it, though I like the characterization a lot) and the last group of people I should talk to about it without fully articulated thoughts are thoughtful people who I like and respect who also like it, particularly given that I neither like nor respect the phenomenon it's become. Then I started hallucinating my phone's ringtone.
Wednesday, I wound up with a job interview. Unfortunately, the job interview I showed up for was ... not the job they were hiring for. When someone advertises in Craigslist for customer service jobs, in the customer service section, one specifies the job environment if one is not in a sort of indoor type location. It was in fact an outdoor type of job. (They later emailed back saying lolno, which was what the interviewer and I agreed upon.)
And that brings us up to the thing where I found myself heading merrily off with my aunt.
Next up, more sleep for me, and more about chicken camp.
